The 7th Annual Carter's Run will be held the morning of Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the beautiful Lake Ponca. Starting line will be near the restrooms, located on Checkstand Road.
Carter’s Run has very exciting news to report! What began as an effort to raise local Autism Awareness and support two different national Autism charities (Autism Speaks and the Organization for Autism Research) is now going to be supporting a group within our local community. Carter’s Run is joining efforts with Positive Impact of Oklahoma, and is now going to be one of their yearly fundraisers.
Positive Impact of Oklahoma is a group that has been founded to support Kay County community’s children under 18 who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities, such as autism. It is their mission to provide families and/or students with services such as occupational, physical and speech therapies, counseling and/or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). PIOO will be providing education services, advocacy and early intervention services to maximize the potential of children with special needs by providing individualized, family-centered therapy services. There are plans to open a facility in early 2017.
Carter's Run is generously sponsored by many businesses and individuals from Ponca City and beyond, as an attempt to promote Autism Awareness. We thank you and them from the bottom of our hearts!!
