Come join us for this 5K running and walking event on Saturday, November 5th that celebrates our past by honoring Day of the Dead and Memorial Ceremonies, while shaping our future by encouraging participants – from the littlest to the oldest – to pay attention to their health and celebrate every part of who they are, and who they represent in today’s multicultural community.
For those who are fueled by competition, the Culture Dash is a chip-timed race that begins at 9:30 a.m. along the Arkansas River. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in the race’s seven age categories: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & up.
Everyone who reaches the finish line at the foot of the iconic Keeper of the Plains statue – whether by running, power walking or casual stroll – will be greeted by an array of activities inside the Indian Center:
All proceeds from the Culture Dash stay local.
The event is a fund-raiser for Mid-America All-Indian Center's Educational programs that preserve American Indian history and culture.
The Indian Center is a non-profit 501(c)3, which is run as a partnership between the Board of Trustees and the City of Wichita. All monies raised go directly to the non-profit.
