TIME: 5K - 8:00 AM, 1 Mile Family Fun Run - 9:00 AM

The 2017 Extra Yard 5K is a family friendly 3.1 mile race hosted in conjunction with the College Football National Championship weekend in Tampa, Florida. The race will be held on Sunday, January 8th, 2017 in the heart of Downtown Tampa's Championship Campus and will incorporate a scenic route down a portion of iconic Bayshore Boulevard. In addition to the 5K, a 1 mile Family Fun Run will also be held along a portion of the course.

All proceeds will benefit Extra Yard for Teachers, the College Football Playoff's primary initiative that goes the "extra yard" by honoring, celebrating, inspiring and empowering teachers.

Race day will include live entertainment, activities with several race sponsors, FREE food for all registered racers from The Columbia Restaurant, Goody Goody and Cafe Con Leche Ybor City and a post-race awards ceremony.

Awards will be given to the Top Overall Male finisher, Top Overall Female finisher, Top Male Master (40+), Top Female Master (40+) and then the top 3 finishers in each age group:

• 25 - 29
• 30 - 34
• 35 - 39
• 40 - 44
• 45 - 49
• 50 - 54
• 55 - 59
• 60 - 64
• 65 - 69
• 70 - 74
• 75+

*Paid registration for the 5K race includes a participant shirt (for the first 1,000 only), a finisher's medal, a chipped race bib, one (1) ticket to Playoff Fan Central at the Tampa Convention Center and an entry for one (1) into the drawing to win two (2) tickets to the College Football National Championship.

*Paid registration for the 1 Mile Family Fun Run includes a chipped race bib, one (1) ticket to Playoff Fan Central at the Tampa Convention Center and an entry for one (1) into the drawing to win two (2) tickets to the College Football National Championship.

*You must be present to win the tickets to the College Football National Championship

NOTE: If you register for both the 5K and the 1 Mile Family Fun Run, you will only get one entry into the drawing for tickets
