The course is over soft surfaced and paved trails of Yellow River Park, one of Gwinnett County’s most scenic parks. Proceeds from the race will support the Meadowcreek High School Cross Country Program.
The Course
The starting line is in an open grassy area near the pavillion in Yellow River Park. About 50 meters past the start, the course narrows as contestants enter the trails going over a bridge then meandering along the beautiful Yellow River.
Towards the end of the first mile, the course leads runners slightly up hill and through a narrow passage near a creek. After the second mile mark, the trail widens to an area where the course goes over a couple of bridges looping around the periphery of the wooded area near the second entrance to the park.
The third mile brings the race back to river, giving the contestants a different vantage point as they race on the trail parallel to the trail of mile one. Runners finish on about a 40-50 meter concrete straight away at the pavillion.
