About JLA: In 1916, a small group of 45 women strategically linked vision, social capital and trained action to address community challenges on the front lines. Today, as we mark 100 years of service, the Junior League of Atlanta, Inc. (JLA) is an organization of over 3,500 members donating over 75,000 volunteer hours committed to the same vital mission.
The JLA believes that the collective power of diverse women, joined together to identify unmet needs and forge effective coalitions, can dramatically improve our community. Whether it was improving education through the establishment of the Atlanta Speech School, the Anti-Prejudice Consortium, and AppleCorp; improving the health and well-being of women and children through the creation of ChrisKIDS, The Atlanta Children’s Shelter, Trees Atlanta, or the Atlanta Youth Symphony (which became the Atlanta Symphony); or providing critical funding and volunteer assistance to hundreds of community agencies, the JLA remains at the forefront of making transformational change in Atlanta.
