Directed by Twin City Track Club, Beat the Heat is one of the most popular races in North Carolina. It was twice selected by Endurance Magazine as the best 5K in Triad NC and was featured in Running Journal magazine as the #1 “Under the Radar” race in the South. The evening start time and festive atmosphere make the event popular with all levels of runners. Each year, close to 100 participants run their very first 5K at Beat the Heat. And more than 50 elite runners will compete in the NC USATF 5K Championship. The race will start and finish near Wake Forest’s BB&T Field and Bridger Field House at 7:00pm. Stick around after the race for pizza, subs, and beer. You can sign up as an individual or create your own social team to run. Sign up now and be part of the fun!

Race registration includes a custom designed technical shirt by Champion. When registering, participants have the option to choose a 2017 BTH shirt, a prior year BTH shirt, or no shirt ($5 fee reduction).  2017 shirts will be available for the first 600 people that register.  Men and Women styles available in sizes Small through Extra Large.
