About our Run
During the planning of the first Doctors’ Day Run, our community experienced the sudden loss of a young, beloved physician, Dr. Michael Poist. The Medical Alliance immediately decided that going forward, the run would be dedicated to his memory. Known for his commitment to his patients, his family, and his community, the run seemed to mirror the values of his life. Now, the Alliance honors the memory of Dr. Poist and other dedicated physicians who are no longer with us. This year's race honors Doctors Ernest Brock and Micheal Poist.
About TCMA
The primary goal of the Tuscaloosa County Medical Alliance is to promote health and well-being in our community. All proceeds from this event benefit local health-related projects and agencies like The Good Samaritan Clinic, The Boys and Girls Club, Turning Point, Eagles’ Wings, A Woman's Place, and two local soup bowl services. Our efforts also support our Adopt-A-School, Alberta Elementary.
