About The Old Sandwich Road Race - Awesome New plymouth South High School Stadium Venue!
Plymouth's Old Sandwich Road Race was conceived after years of brainstorming about how to create a truly special and attractive destination running event based in Plymouth, MA. We wanted to create and event which would attract runners from all around the world. In the first year the race drew runners from 24 US States, The Netherlands, England, Germany and Japan. In each year since, we have had runners from all over the US States come to run on "The Old Sandwich". Old Sandwich Road has been repeatedly recognized by Runners World Magazine as well as other national publications. Old Sandwich Road is the oldest public road in America and the host of several historic sites of special interest. It is preserved and very scenic.

About Old Sandwich Road
Plymouth's Old Sandwich Road was originally a trail used by the Wampanoag Native American tribe and later became the nation's first true public road and a stagecoach route to ferry passengers and mail back and forth between the Massachusetts towns of Plymouth and Sandwich. It remains now pretty much as the Pilgrims left it. It’s a wide, scenic, dirt road bordered by beautiful tall pine trees and towering oaks.
We hope you wil come and run the old sandwich. If you do, you will not be disappointed.
