 _ 2017 Barrel Fest 5 Mile Run:

 - Come run or walk this scenic, gently rolling 5-Mile USATF Certified Course. This loop course includesa portion of the Historic Trail of Tears route, is 99% paved and mostly shaded. This family friendly event sponsored by the Coopertown Community Development Committee conveniently starts and ends at Coopertown City Hall. Runners and walkers are encouraged to come out and enjoy this event taking place through the beautiful countryside of Coopertown.
  Stay after to enjoy the 5th Annual Barrel Festival taking place just across Hwy 49 on Old Coopertown Road, where you’ll enjoy over 200 booths, games, live music, dance groups, inflatables, unique shopping vendors, antique tractor display, pony rides and food galore. Bring your entire family and plan to stay all day. Parking and entry into the Barrel Festival are FREE!

PARKING Race Day parking is available at the corner of Hwy 49 & Burgess Gower Road which is catty corner from Coopertown City Hall. Or you can park at Coopertown Elementary School,3746 Tennessee Hwy 49, or Coopertown Middle School, 3820 Hwy 49 West, Springfield, TN 37172. All lots are a short walk over to City Hall. There will be NO parking at City Hall on race day.

JUST A COUPLE RACE RULES
Strollers are welcome but we ask that you line up at the rear. And as much as we love dogs, for your safety and your dog’s safety, we ask that no dogs be on the 5 mile course. We would like to say this is a closed course (intersections around the 5 mile course will be blocked to traffic), however, we cannot guarantee that you will not encounter one of the locals trying to leave their residence during the race. So, for your safety we recommend not wearing headphones. This is a rain or shine, heat & humidity event. The average low is 64 degrees, the average high is 85 degrees. We are not responsible for registrations lost in the mail. We strongly encourage those who sign up using a paper registration to do so before Saturday, May 27, 2017. Check the list of participants for your name - if you do not see your name, you are not registered. No refunds. No transfers.

• Mile markers are painted in yellow on the left side of the pavement.
• The start line is directly behind City Hall.
• To get a full 5 mile loop course (without doing a boring out-and-back) we had to incorporatea gravel path that measures approximately 200 feet and ends at the Right turn onto paved Burgess Gower Road.
• Since this race has a common start/finish that means you'll run that same 200 feet of gravel to get back to the finish line. Click on the link below to see the course layout.

• 5 Mile Course Map 

From Clarksville, TN, Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO. take I-24 Eastbound as if traveling to Nashville, TN. Take Exit 24, then turn Left, Eastward, toward Springfield, TN. Go approximately 5 miles, make Left onto Burgess Gower Rd.

From Nashville take I-24 West toward Clarksville. Take Exit 24 onto Hwy 49 toward Springfield. Go approximately 5 miles, turn Left onto Burgess Gower Rd.

From Bowling Green, KY take I-65 South toward Nashville. Turn Right onto Springfield Rd./Hwy 76. Go 11 miles, turn Left on Hwy 49/TN 76 (a.k.a. E. 5th Ave.). Keep straight 7.2 miles. Turn Right onto Burgess Gower Rd.

When you see Coopertown Elementary School on your Right, slow down and get into the Left turning lane to Burgess Gower.  If you go past Coopertown Middle School you've gone too far.

Once you get on Burgess Gower you will see parking signs into the lot on your Left.
