The ALTAMONT race series is proud to establish one of the most difficult and scenic road marathons in the Southeast! A course that is nestled in the foothills and based in TRAVELERS Rest, South Carolina. The Heart of the Foothills was originally home to several Indian tribes, including the Catawba, the Creek, and the Cherokee. Travelers Rest gained notoriety as a stopover for weary travelers and livestock drovers. Travelers Rest boasts a colorful history dating back to America's early years. You will have the opportunity to summit the top of Greenville County near PARIS MOUNTAIN to look over the entire Upstate!

The "Ultimate" Half Marathon starts at Poinsett Park and quickly runs down to Altamont Road and ascends and descends this beautiful road before reaching the turnaround point and getting the lovely opportunity to run it again! NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART! These races willl be scenic, fun, and rewarding to all finishers! Come and see if you can climb ALTAMONT!

The BASICS:

  • 6.55 Mile Course that runs out & back starting from Pointsett Park to CVS over Altamont Rd.
  • 2 Aid Station at the Start and at the CVS Turn Around
  • This is a CUP-LESS EVENT so you need to have your own water bottle/hydration pack
  • Aid Station will have Tailwind, Soda, Water, GU, Pretzels, Chips, Bacon, PB&J, etc.
  • Finishers Patch
  • Shirt and ScumRunner Sticker available during checkout
  • Post Race Meal provided by our volunteers and runners of Pizza, Soup, Coffee, etc.
