The 5th Annual Pleasanton Run for Education is coming up soon. Thousands of local runners and walkers will be taking to the streets of Pleasanton on Sunday, April 23 to partake in this family-friendly event that benefits Pleasanton schools and Pleasanton Partnerships in Education (PPIE). According to Steve McCoy-Thompson, Executive Director of PPIE, “This is a wonderful event that draws over 3,000 people throughout the community to help raise funds for school staffing, technology and student support." The Run features 3 fast, flat courses - 5k, 10k and 15k – that start and end at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. This year, the run will take 10k and 15k runners through the new phase of Bernal Community Park. Race Director Kelly French commented, “We are excited that the new 10K & 15K routes will take advantage of the beautiful Oak Woodland trails within Bernal Community Park.” For the younger runners, there will be a ¼ mile Kids’ Challenge event.
All participants receive a high end race T-shirt and a finisher’s medal, and are invited to an after race expo to enjoy music, food, entertainment, awards ceremony and other vendor surprises.
The Pleasanton Run for Education is also proud to announce the return of our title sponsor Club Sport Pleasanton and our new title sponsor Veeva. “We appreciate ClubSport Pleasanton’s and Veeva’s commitment to this event, thereby demonstrating their support for quality education in Pleasanton,” said French. Additional sponsors include Workday Foundation, Walker Family Trust, KKIQ, and 7-11 to name a few. PPIE appreciates all their sponsors who make this run possible.
