16th Annual Basin Harbor 5K...

• 5K Run:- Run 3.1 Miles

We are honored to be able to bring to you the 16th Annual Basin Harbor 5K as part of the 2017 Festival of Fidos which will be held at Basin Harbor Resort and Boat Club in Vergennes, Vermont. This race is part of an exciting day of canine activities which all contribute to Lacey's Fund - an organization whose goal is "to assist (K9) handlers with the resources needed to enable retired police dogs to live out the remainder of their days in good health."

The day will begin with a free fun run for children which will be followed by this 5K run/walk. Participants are welcome to race alone or to run/walk with their canine friends on leash. This day is all about FIDO! Stick around after the 5K and enjoy the Festival of Fidos (this link will take you to information about the 2016 festival - to be updated as soon as 2017 information becomes available.)

You will enjoy this beautiful 5K course laid out on the grounds of the Basin Harbor Resort and Boat Club - a spectacular seasonal resort on the shores of Lake Champlain. The course is not only beautiful, but it is also flat, so prepare yourself for a personal record! Following the race, you may enjoy our regular post-race refreshments, or you and your guests could opt to take advantage of several dining opportunities at Basin Harbor:

• Purchase a burger or other sandwich at the Festival of Fidos tent near the beach.
• Pick up something to eat at the Harbor Store.
• Enjoy dining at a discount at the Ranger Room if you prefer poolside dining.
• Take advantage of a race lunch special at the The Red Mill Restaurant (tickets available in advance when you register).

Register by June 3, 2017 to receive a free commemorative t-shirt.

Event details and schedule

Pre-race pick up will be at Fleet Feet Sports located at 77 Pearl Street, Essex Junction, VT on Friday, June 23 from noon to 4:00 pm.

Race Day registration and check in will be held at The Red Mill Restaurant at Basin Harbor on Saturday, June 24, 2017, 8:00 - 8:45 am

Post race refreshments:

Light refreshments will be provided following the race courtesy of Bruegger’s Bagels and Shelburne Market. In addition, you and your guests may opt to take advantage of several dining opportunities at Basin Harbor:

• Purchase a burger or other sandwich at the Festival of Fidos tent near the beach.
• Pick up something to eat at the Harbor Store.
• Runners and their families can enjoy a 15% discount at The Red Mill Restaurant or the buffet lunch in the Ranger Room the day of the race. Runners must present their race bib to receive discount. Valid only for the day of race. Recommended to make a reservation in The Red Mill in advance. The Red Mill opens at 11:30 AM and serves all day. Ranger Room opens noon-2:30 PM.

Awards:

Top 3  men and top 3 women finishers in each division.
Prizes include:
