Description

The Stop, Drop and Run for the Kids 5K is a fundraiser for the Goodlettsville Fire Department. This is the 4th year Simmons Bank has sponsored this event. All money raised is donated to the Goodlettsville Fire Department and used to purchase Christmas gifts for underprivledged kids in the community. Area schools and teachers notify the fire department of children in need. In December each child is given money to shop at the Goodlettsville K-Mart with a local fire department employee. They will have breakfast with Santa and also be able to ride in the fire truck after they are done shopping. This event gives children the opportunity to have a nice Christmas that their care givers are not able to provide.

We would like to thank our participating sponsors: Piccadilly Apartments, Goodlettsville Church of the Nazarene, Dennis Sinor Insurance, Alliance Marketing, B F Myers Furniture, Goodlettsville Police Department/Chief Gary Goodwin, Bill Dorris & Associates Real Estate & Property Management, Commissioner Zach Young and Wholesale Inc.

Thank you for participating.

Event details and schedule

The Stop, Drop and Run for the Kids 5K will be held in conjunction with the Salty Dog Festival on Main Street in Goodlettsville.  This year the run is directly behind the Goodlettsville Fire Department at 120 East Avenue Goodlettsville.  Free local parking will be provided with attendants to assist. The course will not only be fun with open roads you might just take a trip through the bay of the fire hall. The 5K will be chip timed with the help of our friends from A Matter of Timing.  Each participant will recieve a cotton T-shirt and a participation medal.  Registration begins at 6:30am ~ The 1 Mile run will kick off at 7:30am followed by the 5K at 8:00am. This event is a run/walk, so bring the kids.  Watch for our Mascot Sparky to move you along to the finish line for prizes, medals, food/beverages, children activities and spend the morning with your family and fur babies at the Salty Dog Festival.  For further assistance please contact Rhonda Briley at 615.844.2644 or [email protected].
