_ The 2018 Run The Night 5K:

Get your GLOW on! The South Texas Run The Night 5k is set in scenic downtown Victoria, TX. The course begins at historic De Leon Plaza, winds through the downtown district, and finishes up back at the Plaza with an afterparty featuring No Chance Band.

Runners will light up the night by collecting glow necklaces at checkpoints throughout the run. Even more fun? Every runner who collects all three necklaces will receive a free pint of draft beer from Moonshine Drinkery, located just blocks away from the finish line.

The race course is 5K/3.1M and is perfect for beginners and experienced runners alike! The run is not timed, but trophies for first, second, and third place will be handed out at the afterparty.

This run benefits The Riding Therapy Center of Victoria and the Smiles For Life Foundation. The Riding Therapy Center is the only PATH Intl Premier Accredited Center within 125 miles. The RTC serves individuals with disabilities or special needs with equine therapeutic riding services. Established for nearly 30 years, the RTC’s work has helped clients achieve improvements in balance, coordination, motor skills, cognitive planning and self-esteem, increasing their independence in and outside of the arena.

The Smiles For Life Foundation supports local and national children's charities across the US; Each year, the team at Goliad Dental Care donates all profits received from whitening procedures during the months of March through June to the Smiles for Life Foundation in support of foundation's charity work.

SCHEDULE

Run The Night will begin at 7PM with late packet pickup and warm up exercises lead by a team of experienced personal trainers. The run will kick off at 7:30 PM and will wind through the streets of downtown Victoria, returning to De Leon Plaza for an after party with No Chance Band from 8:30-10PM! 

PARKING

Parking is available in the One O'Connor Plaza parking garage, at the Victoria Public Library, or on the street. Please note that the course will be closed to vehicles 30 minutes prior to the run's start time, so if you plan to park in a lot that is accessible via the race course, you will need to arrive early. 

RESTROOMS

Portable restrooms are available at De Leon Plaza. 

WAIVERS AND PACKET PICKUP

A waiver of liability is required for each participant. This form is available for download and can be completed during registration or on paper and emailed to [email protected]. Waivers may also be signed onsite the day of the run. A valid photo ID will be required to pick up your race packet. Packet pickup will be announced on the Run The Night Facebook page and via an email to registrants.

WHAT TO WEAR

Run The Night is a glowtastic party under the stars, so we encourage you to GLOW WILD and bring on your best and brightest glow-in-the-dark attire. South Texas experiences mild winter and springtime temperatures, however, layers and warmer clothing are recommended for this event.
