Description

Run, walk or fly to the CASA of Kay and Noble Counties Superhero Run. Get your superhero costume and join us on Saturday, October 28, 2017 as we band together to lead the fight against child abuse. Every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes!

 

1k Superhero Dash: The 1k Superhero Dash is designed for children 10 and under, but all are welcome to participate. One parent or guardian per child may run with their small children without needing to purchase a Superhero Dash registration. The run will start at 8:45 a.m. at Grand Avenue and 6th Street in historic downtown Ponca City. Superheroes will chase infamous villains at record speed to cross the finish line!

5k Superhero Run: The 5k Superhero Run is open to all ages and abilities. The run will start at 9:30 a.m. at Grand Avenue and 6th Street in historic downtown Ponca City. This run will be timed by race organizers and the top finishers will be given a special award. All who register by October 13th will receive a CASA Superhero Run performance t-shirt and will have the opportunity to purchase additional t-shirts.-

How to Register: Register here at RunSignUp.com or contact Jennifer Vaughan with CASA of Kay and Noble Counties at 580-762-8341. Race day registration will be available from 7:45 a.m. until 8:45 a.m. Prices increase on race day and t-shirts/capes are not guaranteed.

Cost: 5k Superhero Run: $30, 1k Superhero Dash: $15 - Register by October 6th and receive $5 Early Bird discount! Pricing on event day is $40 for the 5k Superhero Run and $20 for the 1k Superhero Dash.

Superhero Swag:  The first 200 registrants will receive a CASA superhero cape and incredible swag bag. All 5k participants who register by October 13th will receive a custom designed performance grade t-shirt. All registrants will be provided with the option to purchase additional t-shirts for just $10.

Race Packet/Swag Bag Pickup: Race day packet pick-up will begin at 7:45 a.m.

Costumes: We strongly encourage everyone to wear their favorite superhero costume, but it is not required. When selecting or creating your costume, please be reminded that children of all ages will be participating in this family-friendly event and that costumes should not be too revealing or scary.

Costume Contest: Local celebrity judges will be at the Costume Contest booth ready to vote for their favorite superhero costumes in the following categories: Adult, Child and Animal. Winners will be announced directly prior to the Superhero Dash, so anyone who would like to participate will need to check-in at the Costume Contest booth immediately after race packet/swag bag pickup. 

Awards: A special award will be presented to the top three finishers in the 5k Superhero Run. Awards will also be given to the Contest Costume winner in each category: Adult, Child and Animal

Drawing Prizes: All runners in both the 5k Superhero Run and the 1k Superhero Dash will be entered to win GRAND prizes that will be announced on the CASA of Kay and Noble Counties Facebook page! 

Fun for the Whole Family: In addition to a SUPER fun race and costume contest, there will also be meet and greet with real life local superheroes, professional photography of the event, a chance for guests to explore Don Baker's batmobile and Dave Guinn's superhero vehicle and MUCH more!

Assisted Athletes Information: Assisted athletes with disabilities are welcome. Both the athlete and the assistant must register. Please email Jennifer Vaughan at [email protected] by October 25th to let us know if there is anything we can do to help accommodate you. 

Parking: Parking will be available along the west side of Grand Avenue and on side streets where not barricaded. 

Stroller Policy: This is a family-friendly race and strollers are permitted, however, participants pushing small children or infants in strollers must start in the back and stay on the right side of the path at all times. To ensure safety and plenty of room for runners, strollers cannot line up side-by-side.

Refund Policy: All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
