The Dirty South Marathon was established to bring to North Louisiana and the city of West Monroe its first multi-format event weekend. On October 12, 2014, the eyes of the world were focused on the main event of the weekend – The Dirty South Marathon. The 2nd Annual Dirty South Marathon was held on November 15, 2015, each year's race brought nearly 600 runners from around the country. Friends, family and curious spectators lined up along the 26.2 miles of roadways filled with inspiring sights and sounds to cheer on the many that chose to run. The Dirty South Marathon with a newly designed course and name changed to The Cotton Land Marathon in 2016, has brought a new vibe to the area. The 2017 Marathon will be the same beautiful course as the 2016 course. This newly designed route showcases the best of West Monroe, running down beautiful streets and threw historic Antique Alley. The only thing makes this course even better is running it twice. The course will be 2 loops through the beautiful city and will be a US Track & Field Certified Course as well as a Boston Qualifier.
