_ The 2018 Sunrise Half Marathon & 5K:

The inaugural Sunrise Half Marathon and 5k will take place in the centrally located Markham Park and Sawgrass Industrial Park in Sunrise, Florida. Come and see why over a million people visit Markham Park each year.

Markham Park is home to the Fox Observatory, a radio controlled airplane field, a dog park called Barkham Park, biking and jogging trails, fishing and boating areas, a tennis and racquetball center, volleyball, a swimming pool complex with a mist pool, snack bar, a shooting range, lockers and showers/restrooms. Sawgrass features immaculate landscaping along its winding paths and beautiful lake views.

The Half Marathon winds through Markham Park and utilizes the New River Greenway along the New River to connect to the Sawgrass Park. The 5k will remain inside Markham Park. Both races are spectator friendly. Challenge your friends to participate in this exciting new event from Elite Events!

Event details and schedule

• Start Time 5k and Half Marathon: 7:00am
• Time Limit: 3.5 hours 
• Shirts: Each participant will receive a colorful commemorative  dry fit tech shirt.
• Parking: There is ample parking at Markham Park where the race starts and ends.
• Water Stops: There will be water and gatorade at the water stops approximately every 2 miles.
• Packet Pick Up: 
• Markham Park, Saturday from: TBD
• Race Day Packet Pick Up:
• 5:30-6:40am at Markham Park
• Still want the bling but can't make it to Sunrise?  Sign up for the Virtual Run option and we'll mail you a finisher medal and tshirt!  Run 13.1 anywhere on race day and email us your time.  We'll include all virtual runners in their own category.
