Upstate Ultra is presenting its 5th annual ultra series that will be held at Lake Conestee Nature Park on May 18th through the 20th. This running series includes Ultra distances of 50k, 100 miles, & a Team 24 Hour Relay, along with a kids run and Greenville Water 8k fun run/walk. These races are being held to support a very important charity within the Greenville County in TreesGreenville along with the Global Brigrades that will be benefiting a project that will supply community afar with clean water that is sustainable with easy access. 

Events

These particular events consists of a 5 mile loop that wraps around the central pavilion and throughout the trails and across Swamp Rabbit and back. It is our goal to aid any and all runners willing to accept this daunting challenge with a fully stock station at the start of the loop with several bathrooms, access to crew stations, food vendors, music, entertainment and MORE! This race welcomes ALL! I encourage you to grab a friend and come out and view what the beautiful park and Greenville County has to offer! 

Location 

Conestee Park is located off of Mauldin road. As you enter the park the main baseball field is where our base camp will be held for all of the events of the weekend! Plenty of parking is available! We encourage you to bring family members, pets, grills, picnics, lawn games, etc. This series includes a Kids Fun Run, 8k, 50k, 100 Mile individual challenge, and a 100 Mile team challenge.

The Basics:

  • 5 Mile Loop (6 x for 50k Runners - 20x for 100 Mile Runners)
  • 1 Aid Station (Start/Finish Area) CUP-LESS EVENT so bring own hydration bottle
  • Aid Station will have Tailwind, Soda, Water, GU, Pretzels, Chips, Bacon, PB&J, etc. 
  • Finishers Patch, Shirt, and Decal
  • Post Race Meal provided by our volunteers of Pizza, Soup, Coffee, etc.

What to Bring

  • Pop up Canopy Tent (to be set up behind the kids playground or by the memorial flag)
  • Extra Shoes, socks, shirt, shorts, warm clothes, hat, gloves, sunglasses
  • Head Lamp (A good one!)
  • Medical/First Aid: Pain relief meds, anti-chafe, Sunscreen, Chap stick, Baby wipes
  • Blister kit: needle, band-aids, mole skin

Bit of advice:

  • Have a sense of humour and a donut or beer for the RD
  • If you think you’re going too slow, slow down some more
  • Fuelling is key. It works differently for everyone but bottom line is, you just have to do it.
  • Have fun, enjoy every moment
  • Drink, drink, eat, repeat
  • It’s all about the food
