Frigid Five Miler...

The 22nd annual Frigid Five will take place Saturday, February 18 at Mitch Park in Edmond.  This year’s race is hosted by Precision Timing Solutions and will benefit Best Friends of Pets.

For 20 years, the Frigid Five was hosted by the Edmond Running Club until they disbanded in 2015.  Friends and family asked long time runner Bronda Williams if they could keep the popular race going.  This will be the second year Williams, owner of Precision Timing Solutions, has hosted the original cold weather race in central Oklahoma.

Runners and families can participate in either the five mile sanctioned race or the one mile run/walk.  The five mile run starts at 9 a.m. followed by the one mile run.  Winners of the race will be awarded prizes in each age group.

Best Friends of Pets is a local nonprofit that reduces pet overpopulation in central Oklahoma and keeps pets in their homes.  They offer spaying and neutering at a price low-income residents can afford to prevent cats and dogs from becoming homeless and entering animal shelters.
