Ava's 5K for Down Syndrome is hosted by Ava's T21 Foundation, Inc.

Mission:

The mission of Ava’s T21 Foundation, Inc., a 501(C)3 Non-Profit organization, is to promote a community of value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome, so they have the opportunity to enhance their quality of life, realize their life aspirations, and become valued members of welcoming communities.

Ava’s T21 Foundation, Inc. is committed to improving the quality of lives of people with Down syndrome by promoting INCLUSION AWARENESS COMPASSION.  All funds raised are donated to national and local Down syndrome advocacy groups, as well as throughout the local community through various projects that support our mission.

What is Ava's 5K for Down Syndrome?

Ava’s 5K for Down Syndrome is an annual 5K race and 1 mile fun run, held in Mount Airy, Maryland, that fosters inclusion through awareness of individuals with Down syndrome. The 5K race is a multi surface race, which includes both pavement and gravel. Participants start at Watkins Park, pass through historic downtown Mount Airy, MD, continue on the newly developed Rails to Trails, and finish in Watkins Park. The 1 Mile Fun Run is a paved surface, stroller friendly, and suitable for all levels of participation.

The fun doesn’t end when the race is over! Participants and spectators can enjoy a family friendly, post event festival including; beer garden, petting zoo, music, vendors, moon bounce, games, concessions, and much more.

Ava’s 5K for Down Syndrome is a chip-timed race.

*Please note: If you register for the 5K, you may participate in the 1 Mile Fun Run at no extra charge!

1 Mile Fun Run/Walk – All Ages Welcome - $20.00

Please note: Youth XS and Adult XS are the same size

On May 5, 2018 at 12:00AM all registration fees will increase by $5.00, shirt size will not be guaranteed.
