_ The 2018 9th Annual Peacock Strides for Babies:

The 9th Annual Peacock Strides for Babies, in memory of Emily "Peacock" Ware, is a 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Family Fun Run benefiting First Candle.

Emily was a healthy, vibrant, and happy baby with red hair that was always blowing in the wind, thus the nickname "Peacock." She passed away suddenly in June of 2009 at the age of 5 months. Her cause of death was determined as Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Funds raised will support research in the hope that the cause(s) of SIDS can be identified and ultimately prevented so that this terrible tragedy never happens to another family.
