_ The 2018 Charity Entry - KC Spirit 5K:

A limited number of spaces for the Kansas City Spirit 5K are available as charity entries.  These entries help directly benefit designated non-profit organizations in the very neighborhood that the race runs through!  Entries will be offered on a first-come/first-serve basis. In addition to helping the community, this guarantees one race entry into the Kansas City Spirit 5K along with all of the standard perks.  You do not have to hit the qualifying time standards in order to register via the charity entry option.

Charity Entry Fee: $35 entry fee + minimum $250 donation*
*one-time tax-deductible donation; participants may choose to donate more than the minimum $250 and/or set up a fundraising page to raise an additional amount for charity

Police Athletic League of Kansas City (PAL)
The Police Athletic League of Kansas City, Inc. offers disadvantaged youth the opportunity to interact with Kansas City, Missouri Police Officers and create positive relationships by participating in cultural, character development, and sports programs. With the assistance and support of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, PAL is committed to reducing juvenile crime and victimization throughout the entire city. PAL programs and activities are designed to instill values of integrity, responsibility, self motivation and teamwork with the end result of improving the quality of life for at-risk youth.

PAL Inc. is a registered non-profit 501 (c)(3) The Police Athletic League of Kansas City, Inc., relies on the generosity of citizens and corporations to provide the resources to keep our youth active, productive and safe. Our center is supervised by Kansas City Missouri Police Officers who are assigned full-time to direct activities and oversee the young people. With the help of community volunteers these officers provide the youth of Kansas City with the proper guidance, life skills, and opportunities that will give them a better chance at a successful life. 

American Jazz Museum
Located in the Historic 18th & Vine Jazz District in Kansas City, MO, the American Jazz Museum showcases the sights and sounds of jazz through interactive exhibits and films, the Changing Gallery exhibit space, Horace M. Peterson III Visitors Center, Blue Room jazz club and Gem Theater. Each year the American Jazz Museum engages over 32,000 kids through hands-on performances, jam sessions, storytelling, clinics, poetry, tours, and outreach. They invest in 1,745 musicians, with 208 performances annually. They provide over 40 small, local businesses the opportunity to grow their commerce through First Fridays, and have a $1.2million dollar economic impact annually. These community-centered events provide an opportunity to learn about the legends, honor their legacy, or simply enjoy the sounds of modern day jazz.
