_ The 2018 Tranquility Lake Trail Race:

The Tranquility Lake Trail Race is the first race of the 2018 Southeastern Trail Series. The race starts at the Redbud Pavilion at Oak Mountain State Park and is located on Tranquility Road adjacent to the BMX Track. The race will start at 8:00 AM. This is the perfect first trail race for the beginner runner or the veteran road races. The course is a 3 mile loop with only about 300 feet of elevation gain per lap. You will have to watch your footing climbing up the trial to the old Tranquility Lake dam but the rest of the course is relatively gentle, that is, by Oak Mtn standards.

Runners will make a quick loop around Tranquility Road, circling the BMX Track, to give runners a chance to spread out before hitting the single tracks. The course will follow the Yellow Trail along the western short of Tranquility Lake (the Old Lake at OMSP) before continuing back to Maggie's Glen. Cross the creek at Maggie's and turn left onto the White Trail then straight ahead on the Cabin Trail to the Cabins. Continue past the cabins along the north short (right side) of Tranquility Lake back to the Redbud Pavilion, the Start/Finish and Aid Station for the 6 mile runners.  This is the finish of the race for those running the 3 mile. Six mile runners can refuel at the aid station and head out for another lap around the course. ​Don't leave when you finish. Southeastern Trail Runs always has lots of fun, food and drink at the end of races.​
