_ The 2018 Bright Futures 5K Walk/Run - San Diego - Kids4Community:

We are running to help our low income and homeless population in San Diego!

ON MARCH 25TH, 2018

AT THE SAN DIEGO EMBARCADERO,

STARTS AT: 7:30 AM (Kids Fun Run starts at 8:45 AM)

This is a very special 5k. So special that there are 5 great reasons why you should not miss it! 

1-) This is an inaugural 5k. We have never done the Bright Futures 5k before, so you will be a part of something so special. Imagine 10 years from now you can say: "I was there at the first Bright Futures 5k". How many times do you get a chance to take part in an inaugural event?

2-) This event is the "Only" and very possibly the "First" 5K in San Diego that has been organized by the young community organizers of San Diego. Organization committee, volunteers are made of middle and high school kids from around San Diego. Taking part in this 5k is a great way to support these amazing volunteers and give them the motivation to keep helping their communities. 

3-) All proceeds, and we mean like 100%, from this event will go to Low-Income and Homeless Families of San Diego. Our event partner, Interfaith Community Services, will make sure all the money raised are dedicated to helping our community.

4-) The run will be on a scenic route and a flat elevation. You will not be able to get bored running at this event. 

5-) Do you have someone in your family that has never run a 5k before? Your 5-year-old son, your 75-year-old aunt, your 40-year-old husband that prefers to sleep in on Sunday mornings, does not matter. Bright Futures 5k is going to a perfect easy 5k to make it your first 5k.

Event details and schedule

PARKING:

Parking is available at one of the many surrounding lots and check-in is only a short walk away.

KIDS:

Kids of all ages are welcome. This is a great ‘first time’ 5k for your young children. For kids under 8
there will be a 1k Fun Run. All participants will receive a medal at the end of the race.

PETS:

This event is pet friendly, bring your pets do the run

AWARDS:

The top 3 overall male and female finishers for the 5K will receive awards as well as the top 3
male and female finishers in the following age categories:

The awards ceremony will begin at approximately 9:00 am in the post-race festival area.

Chip Timing (5K run only)

**Please Note: The Kids Run is limited to children ages 8 and under. We will provide timing chips for 5K runners but the kid’s run is for fun and will not be chip timed. All runners (including the kids run) will receive medals. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Race times may be adjusted as needed based on the discretion of the Race Director.
