2018 Damon Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium

The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation will hold the 10th Annual Runyon 5K at Yankee Stadium, with 100% of funds raised directly supporting innovative cancer research. Participants are encouraged to raise funds for cancer research. The Runyon 5K is the only event of its kind held inside the iconic stadium. The course winds through the ballpark’s concourses and ramps, and upstairs between levels. The 2018 Runyon 5K is presented by MetLife Foundation.

Participants can register for $45 through April 4. The entry fee will increase to $60 on April 5. A reduced entry fee is available for children ages five through 12. For registration and additional details, please visit runyon5k.org.

The Runyon 5K route winds through the ballpark’s concourses and ramps, and up the stairs between levels. Participants will have the opportunity to take two laps around the warning track that circles the field, appear on the centerfield video board, and meet scientists funded by Damon Runyon.

The entire Runyon 5K route is inside Yankee Stadium and is narrower than a traditional road race, so participants' start times must be staggered to avoid congestion and ensure everyone's safety.  When you register, choose the heat and start time that work best for you!

Please keep in mind that you should only select Heat 1 at 9:30 am if you plan to run competitively at a 6-minute to 8-minute mile pace.  All other heats, which will be launched every 10 minutes, are open to runners and walkers on a first-come, first-served basis. Heat 2 will start at 9:40 am, Heat 3 will follow at 9:50 am, and so on. The last heat is currently scheduled for 10:40 am.  Additional heats will be added if necessary. 

Since the inaugural event in 2009, thousands of Runyon 5K participants have raised more than $4.8 million to help their scientists find the next big breakthroughs in cancer research.
