_ The 2018 Arthurdale Heritage Goat Gallop 5K:

Gallop through history with homestead goats!

Enjoy Arthurdale’s charming historic district dotted with original New Deal homes and gallop past the friendly goats! After the 5k, visit the historic grounds, play with the goats, and join us in celebrating homestead life. All paces welcome in the 5k–run, walk, or roll through Arthurdale! Strollers and wheelchairs welcome. An untimed 1 mile Kids Race is open for children 10 and younger and starts shortly after the 5k. Everybody wins!

Reduced pre-registration is open through June 1 at $20! Pre-registration includes a guaranteed t-shirt. Registration after June 1 and on race day is $25. If not pre-registered before June 1, participants claim event shirts on a first come, first serve basis. For over thirty years Arthurdale Heritage, Inc. (AHI) has worked to preserve the history of the nation's first New Deal Homestead Community, started under the Roosevelt Administration. AHI was created by volunteers, many of whom were original homesteaders, to preserve their family and community history. AHI has since become essential to maintaining northern West Virginia's economy through tourism and promoting education about the Depression Era.
