_ The 2018 Wild West Cross Country 5K:
The Wild West Cross Country 5k Challenge is a true off-road, Cross Country 5k running event that benefits the Nevada Diabetes Association. This unique course runs through Bonnie Springs Ranch set in the beautiful Red Rock Conservation Area.
The course was designed by the current US Duathlon Champion, accomplished and decorated triathlete, and Type 1 Diabetic, Bruce Balch. It is truly a one-of-a-kind event that includes a 5k Timed Race and a 1 mile Fun Run for all ages. As an added bonus, the event also includes a ¼ mile Dash just for children 5 years and under. This is a family friendly event!

Packet Pickup
Race morning at the race location from 6:30am - 7:20am. Early packet pickup will be announced in April.
Race Day Schedule
6:30 AM - Registration/Packet Pickup Opens
7:20 AM - Pre-race ceremony
7:30 AM - 1/4 mile kid's race
8:00 AM - 5K timed and 1 mile
9:15 AM - Award ceremony for 5K and raffle winners announcement
Awards/Medals
All particpants in the 5K and 1-mile walk will receive a finisher's medal. 1/4-mile dash participants will receive a finisher's ribbon.
The overall top male and female in the 5K Run will be given an award. Additionally, the top three male and female participants in the following age groups participating in the 5K Run will be given awards at the post-race award ceremony:
Ages 11 and under
Ages 12 - 14
Ages 15 - 19
Ages 20 - 29
Ages 30 - 39
Ages 40 - 49
Ages 50 - 59
Ages 60 - 69
Ages 70+
Timing
The 5K Run will be professionally timed using state-of-the-art Chronotrack timing equipment.
Photos/Video
Photos will be taking at the event and are included in the price of the race. Event photos will be available on the website approximately 3 days following the race.
