_ The 4th Annual Match to Marrow 5K:

14,000 blood cancer patients are counting on us to be able to survive no more than an hour of activity and fork out a few dollars. Signing up for this race will help them with the costs of transplant- which can easily top $200,000.

We are excited to host the 4th Annual Match to Marrow 5K.  This year's race will be back at James Island County Park and will be run on our USATF certified course.  This run/walk will benefit Be The Match- which is part of the National Marrow Donor Program.  

Every three minutes someone is diagnosed with a blood cancer and 70% of patients don’t have a donor in their family so they depend on Be The Match. Our mission is delivering cures for blood cancers.  For patients with blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma and other life threatening diseases, a cure exists.  We are a community of donors, volunteers, health care professionals and researchers who deliver cures by helping patients get the life saving marrow or cord blood transplant they need.  Our passion to save lives drives us to help more patients survive each year.  Every dollar we raise helps more patients afford transplant, adds more marrow donors to the registry and fund life saving research.

In addition to the opportunity to participate in the 5K run or 5K walk, a marrow registry drive will be hosted by Be The Match volunteers to provide the opportunity to join the registry

8:00 a.m. - Registration opens 
8:30 a.m. - Registration closes 
9:00a.m. - 5K begins

Day of race registration is available.

Plentiful parking is available at James Island County Park

Day of Race – 8:00 a.m. at James Island County Park

Earlybird registration ($25) ends on April 2 2018.  
Charleston Match to Marrow 5K is chip timed.  Overall male & female will be awarded. Awards for the top 3 males and females in each age group will be given.  Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards

Packet pick up @ James Island County Park on race morning starting at 8:00am
Race shirts guaranteed with all 5K registrations before 4/3/2018

Students will be provided a discounted registration fee ($15) for the race which will be available up until race day
