_ The 2018 Tonkawa Half and Quarter Marathon:

The annual Waco Striders sponsored Half and Quarter Marathon has a new name and scope. This year the emphasis will be on a club picnic with a long run attached rather than a race with a picnic attached. Therefore, the Half and Quarter Marathons will be self timed and have self serve water stops. There is no registration fee and no awards. Even though it is free, we would still like you to register so we can get an accurate estimate of the food needed for the picnic.

Immediately following the Half and Quarter Marathon run, please join the Waco Striders Running Club for our annual club picnic lunch. The Waco Striders and our sponsor, Bush's Chicken, will be supplying the main course and iced tea. You are asked to bring a side dish to add to the feast. BYOB if you would like an adult beverage.

There will also be a Easter Egg Hunt for children ten (10) and under. If you plan to participate please bring 12 Easter Eggs. You don't have to participate in the run to attend picnic and Easter Egg Hunt.

All of the event activities will held at the Tonkawa Park in Crawford, TX. There are camping sites and showers available in the park (see details below).

The Tonkawa Half and Quarter Marathon routes follows a portion of the historic Chisholm Trail which was used in the late 19th century to drive cattle overland from ranches in Texas to the Kansas railheads. The run will be entirely on the roads and is not a trail run.
