_ The 2018 World Race for Hope Columbus:
The World Race for Hope 5k+ charity run/walk is organized by Free To Run Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity that was formed in 2012. This is the 7th annual race in Columbus. Proceeds from registrations and donations will support anti-trafficking activities in the Columbus and Central Ohio area through our charity and social enterprise partners.
This is a 5k+, as we are encouraging our participants to go the extra mile to fight human trafficking. It is a 4.1-mile course for the chip-timed run/walk event.
Early packet pickup
You will, of course, have the option to get your race materials on race day near the start/finish line beginning at 8:30 am. But, if you want to get things early and save a few minutes in line on race day, feel free to visit the friendly staff at Columbus Running Company in their Short North location (765 North High St B - 43215) on Thursday, April 7 between 10 am and 8 pm, or Friday, April 6 between 10 am and 6 pm.
Optional Fundraising
Again this year, you have the option to create a fundraising page during registration, and you can choose to have your registration fee waived if you commit to raising $100 by race day. There will be other fundraising prizes at higher amounts.
One Mile Fun Walk
If 4.1 miles is too daunting of a task, you can choose the 1 mile un-timed fun walk. The walk is free, with an option to purchase a shirt for $15. You can also set up a fundraising page for this event.
Virtual Race Option
If you are located outside of Central Ohio, or you aren't available to participate on April 7, you can still sign up as a Virtual Race participant. You can run or walk the 5k (or 5k+) anywhere or anytime, on April 7, or whatever date during the month of April that is convenient to you. Participation in the virtual race is free, because we see this is an opportunity to raise awareness through online and social networking, but if you would like a shirt mailed to you after the race, the cost is $15.
