_ The 2018 Cleft Palate Gallop 5K and Fun Walk:
The 10th annual Cleft Palate Gallop 5K run/walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at 9 AM. All profits benefit the UNC Craniofacial Center. Thanks so much for your participation!
WHERE: The race start location is the Old Well on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. An approximate address is: 180 E. Cameron Ave., Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
DISTANCES: 5K Run and 1.2 Mile Family Fun Walk
REGISTRATION: The cost for pre-registration is $25 for the 5K and $15 for the fun walk. Online pre-registration will end on April 6th at 11:59AM. In- person registration will be available at 7:00AM the morning of the race. The cost for registering on race day will be an additional $5 ($30 for 5K and $20 for fun walk).
PACKET PICKUP: Packets may be picked up starting at 7am on race day. Packet pickup will also be available on Friday April 6th from 4-7pm at Fleet Feet Sports in Carrboro. Dental school affiliates may also pick up their packets at the dental school atrium from 1-2pm on the 6th.
RACE: The running route will be the Franklin 5K, a USATF-certified course. Electronic chip timing will be used. Strollers, wagons, and friendly pets welcome! Pets must be on a leash at all times.
T-SHIRT: Participates that pre-register for the 5K or Fun Walk will be guaranteed a T-shirt. Those who sign up on race day will receive a t-shirt as available.
AWARDS: Awards will be given to the overall first, second, and third place male and female runners as well as the top male and female runners in each age group: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+.
The Cleft Palate Gallop is organized by students of the UNC School of Dentistry. All profits from the race will be donated to the UNC Craniofacial Center to help cover the treatment costs of children with cleft lip or cleft palate.
