_ The 2018 Friends of Night People:
Friends of Night People's 15th Annual Putting Hunger on the Run will raise support for community feeding programs offered by FONP to serve and distribute 137K meals in 2018. At the event every $25 raised provides 12 meals to an individual or family in need in Buffalo, NY. Everyone who has compassion for those experiencing homelessness and poverty can join this Sunday morning to help make a difference to benefit “The Shelter of Last Resort.”
The race begins with the National Anthem next to the Connecticut Street Armory. Runners and walkers are treated to splendid views of historic homes on this West Side course often hidden by the foliage during the summer and fall. The level course for the first 2 miles has a slight incline as runners approach Symphony Circle from the West and the race finishes level near D’Youville College where the post race party begins.
Participants are welcome to join us for Chili with Cornbread, Yogurt Parfait, Music, Awards for Runners, and The 4th Annual FONP Race To Donate T-Shirt Contest (most, oldest, farthest away.)
Friends of the Night People is a charitable organization that helps the poor, homeless and destitute in Buffalo, New York. We provide food, clothing, medical care, counseling and hope to those in need. All services are provided free of charge without a sliding income scale. We rely on the generosity of our volunteers and contributors. Please consider participating in our annual 5k or a donation of time, money or food and clothing to our cause so that we will continue to be able help our neighbors.
