Description

_ The 2018 Newhope Run & Picinic:

Our signature event for Hospice & Palliative CareCenter has a new name and location. The NEWHope Run & Picnic will take place April 14, 2018 in Bailey Park at Innovation Quarter in downtown Winston-Salem. Funds generated help us to provide unmatched, compassionate care and support for anyone in our community who needs it. Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance cover hospice care so that patients almost never have out-of-pocket expenses. The challenge is that reimbursement does not fully cover the cost of care. We rely on community support to bridge this shortfall.

New Event Features

Bailey Park Picnic
A true family value! Packages for families and individuals include meals, sampling from area breweries and official Allegacy picnic blanket! Most importantly, families will enjoy a fun-filled day in a family-oriented environment with their children and friends.

Shiloh Hill
Layering traditional folk instruments over a rock band rhythm section, Shiloh Hill brings a smooth and infectious energy to the stage. The dance-worthy grooves mingle with hometown mandolin, turning stage into front porch, where front man Nick Hofstetter and his wife Mamie weave stories in harmony. Their winsome, family-band style ensures great fun and even better friends.

NEW 5K Course & Stroller Mile
Our new 5K is a challenging out and back course utilizing Research Parkway to Salem Avenue to God’s Acre and back. The new relaxed Race Day schedule is picnic friendly with a 10:00 AM 5K start time.

The Stroller Mile (.6 Miles) is a family stroll around the park. Perfect for those who may want to participate with their family and then take part in the 5K race. The Stroller Mile will be first on the schedule allowing participants to be back in time for the start of the 5K main event. Stroller Mile starts at 9:30 AM.
