_ The 2018 Second Annual Get Out & Play Shipley 5K:

Come out and play with us at C.W. Shipley Elementary School. This is our second annual 5K Race/Walk, with all proceeds going toward building new playgrounds for our students. Prizes will be awarded to runners having the best times for men and women overall and by age group.

Event details and schedule

The race will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. Packet pick up and registration open at 8:00 AM. Water and snacks will be available before and after the race. Please arrive early with your ID and Waiver to ensure you have plenty of time to pick up your packet and be ready to run by 8:50 AM. Same-day registration is available onsite the day of the race at $25.00 per adult. (Same-day registrants are not guaranteed a race t-shirt.) Please allow 15 minutes extra if you are registering the morning of the race. The race will take place rain-or-shine. Please be aware of the weather forecast on event day and wear comfortable athletic clothing and shoes. Most of all, have fun!

Parking is available on C.W. Shipley Elementary School Grounds. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants.

The race will begin in front of the school. The course is mostly paved with some gravel roads and grassy sections. You will run our school's gravel track, then proceed along Shipley School Road. There are some hills on neighborhood streets through Sheridan Estates and Carriage Park and one final incline on Shipley School Road back to the start/finish line.

Early registration closes April 12th. The cost to register increases to $25.00 on April 13th. Race T-shirts are guaranteed to early registrants only. Youth participants will receive a participation award instead of a T-shirt. Youth and adult T-shirts are available for purchase at a cost of $10.00 each until April 12th.
