Welcome to the Pride 5K Fundraising System

What are the benefits of being on a DC Front Runners Pride Run 5K Team?
· Our designated beneficiary charities received $30,000 from the 2017 Pride Run, a record amount, which we aim to exceed in 2018.
· Donations from teams and individual donations comprised about a third of total charity donations, with the remainder coming from Pride Run sponsors and the net proceeds from race registration fees.
· In 2018, we are partnering with the following locally-based, LGBTQ-oriented charities, each of whom is a registered 501(c)3 organization.

• Team DC Student-Athlete Scholarship (returning)
• Casa Ruby (New)
• The Wanda Alston Foundation (new)

· Over the past year, external funding sources for these charities has diminished and so your support is especially appreciated and needed.
· By supporting SMYAL, you can empower LGBTQ youth through SMYAL’s various programs, which develop critical life skills and help youth to engage their peers and community through service and advocacy.
· By contributing to the Team DC Student-Athlete Scholarship, you are supporting a unique program through which self-identified LGBT high school athletes apply through a competitive process for scholarships. The awardees receive much-needed financial support as they embark on their university studies.
· By donating to The Wanda Alston Foundation you are helping to provide pre-independent living services and life skills counseling to homeless LGBTQ youth. The Foundation is the first and only housing program in the Washington, DC area dedicated to this purpose.
· Forming or joining a Fundraising Team is a fun way to participate in the Pride Run alongside friends, family, and colleagues with whom you have been fundraising. As you cross the finish line, celebrate completion of your goal together.
