- Komen Central Mississippi Steel Magnolias Race:- Run 3.1 Miles
On April 13, 2013 the Central Mississippi Steel Magnolias Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure will host the 14th annual Race for the Cure in downtown Jackson at the Old Capitol. The Race for the Cure is the largest awareness and fundraising event for the Central MS Affiliate. This years race will feature an inaugural 10k along with the 5k run/walk and the childrens fun run. The event hosts thousands of people from across the metro area and central Mississippi.
Mississippi First Lady
Deborah Bryant, will serve as Susan G. Komen for the Cure Honorary Race Chair.
The affiliate will celebrate and honor survivors, volunteers, civic and
corporate partners. The MS Steel Magnolias affiliate covers a critical needs
area in the state of Mississippi, making it important that we create a culture
of awareness and ensure women have access to health care professionals if
needed.
From I-55 take the High Street exit to Downtown Jackson
Turn Left onto State Street
Go just a few blocks - This will take you straight to the race site and you will see signs for parking
There will be additional parking behind the Old Capitol on the MS State Fair Grounds.
