Join the #ConeyRecovers Team on March 3rd!

#ConeyRecovers is an initiative of Alliance for Coney Island, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting "the People's Playground" and improving quality of life for the entire Coney Island community.

Since Superstorm Sandy, #ConeyRecovers has played a vital coordinating role in the recovery of Coney Island addressing both short-term and long-term needs through organizing volunteers, distributing needed supplies, and advocating community needs. Through trainings, information sessions, and one-on-one clinics, #ConeyRecovers has been able to provide technical assistance and build capacity for residents, businesses, and organizations throughout their various stages of recovery. #ConeyRecovers has established its headquarters office space at 1701 Surf Avenue which serves as a home-base for several organizations providing direct services and resources to the Coney Island community.

A part of the Generosity Series, Generosity Brooklyn is a multi-charity 5K. Generosity Brooklyn will take place, rain or shine, in Brooklyn's historic Prospect Park on March 3, 2013. Bib pick-up commences at 7:30 am and the event kicks off at 9:00 am with a pre-5K warmup with the Brooklynettes (the Brooklyn Nets' cheerleaders). Runners, walkers and the differently abled are encouraged to support #Coneyrecovers by clicking "Register Now" and joining us at Generosity Brooklyn.
