I am pleased to announce the inaugural Salvation Army 5K RED SHIELD ROAD RACE. You are invited to join in this historic event on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Our first race will be held at a one of a kind course that will challenge runners and walkers alike at the Coweta County Fairgrounds located at 275 Pine Road in Newnan, Georgia. Registration will begin that day at 7:00 am, the race will begin at 8:00 am and awards will be presented at 10:00 am. Applications for entry will be accepted through April 19th w...ith an entry fee of $25.00 and late entries will be accepted the day of the race for an entry fee of $35.00. Bring a slightly used donation to get $5.00 off the Race Day Cost for our family store.

The proceeds made from this first ever road race will benefit the Newnan/Coweta County Salvation Army Service Center. The Salvation Army is a non-profit organization. At the Newnan/Coweta County Salvation Army Service Center we provide food and clothing to those in need, we offer emergency financial assistance for utility, rent and medical needs plus we accept donations for our Family Store, which in turn $.83 of every dollar made is returned to our community.
