For the past two years, Hamden has been honored as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by the America's Promise Alliance and ING. The award recognizes Hamden for its efforts to engage the entire community in supporting young people-making Hamden an outstanding place for youth to live, learn and grow. To celebrate this recognition, Hamden announces the first annual Hamden Road Race and Fun Run!

The Hamden Road Race and Fun Run will showcase all that Hamden has to offer. There will be something for everyone on Saturday, June 8 at Town Center Park:

• 5k Road Race
• 1 Mile Fun Run and Fitness Walk
• Activities for Kids
• Health and Wellness Expo with exhibitors from local businesses and organizations
• Food from area restaurants
