Come meet running legend Billy Mills! I remember watching the Tokyo Olympics on our black and white television, says Bob Anderson. I watched Billy Mills shock the nation when he won the 10000m in Toyko. It was so inspiring and I knew then that running would be part of my life forever.

The Double Road Race is a new sport created by Bob Anderson in October 2010. The first Double Road Race held in America drew 1400 runners to Pleasanton, California on Dec 23, 2012. It was a huge success and on that day, a new sport was born. The Double Road Race is a 15k distance race consisting of two legs (10k + 5k) with a halftime in between. Its new, its innovative and the strategies for runners is uniquely different. Its the only running event with a halftime that features The Recovery Zone.
After completing the 10k leg, runners have a halftime to get ready for the 5k leg. They can go to an area designated as the Recovery Zone, the Hydration Zone, the Nutrition Zone. the Warm-up Zone, or hang out in the Double Expo Area. Runners will be provided with hydration, massage, nutrition and advice to help them recover and prepare for the second leg. The 5K leg starts 105 minutes after the start of the 10k leg.
