Description

Scotts Trot 5K Run/Walk is located in the Nebraska National Forest near Halsey. The race begins on the Middle Loup River Bridge and winds its way through the largest hand planted forest in the world. The beautiful scenery and the wildlife that is often seen is just an added bonus for the participants. The route brings its own unique challenges; as it gently climbs up to an elevation of 2945 feet and ends at the base of the Scotts Lookout Tower. The Scotts tower is not a part of the timed event but in order to be eligible for a prize participants are required to climb the 75 steps of the 65 foot tower. This in its self is worth the run. The view from the tower can be breath taking and when all is clear you can see for 10 miles.

Scotts Trot will challenge the best runners and provide a fun and beautiful walk or jog for those who just want to get off the couch and enjoy the great outdoors! When the race is over we will provide a shuttle down the hill to the park where we will hand out prizes, or if you prefer you may walk down!
