Description
We are very excited about this year's event. Online registration is now open.
The Stampede, a fun run or walk, is sponsored by the the Island Park Area
Chamber of Commerce.
Set for Saturday, July 6, 2013 @ 9:00am. Includes
half marathon/run, 10k/run, 5k walk/run and our special 1K kid's run. The course
winds through the beautiful Caribou-Targhee National Forest, all on scenic
forest service trails with Sawtelle Mountain as our backdrop.
Besides
participating in a fun, healthy activity, runners and walkers will contribute to
the development of the recreational trails system in Island Park. This project
is dedicated to a non-motorized trail from Henry's Lake to Harriman State Park.
Cash prizes and medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female
finishers in each division. Top 3 kids in the 1k receive gift cards donated by
the Island Park Library Friends and all kids participating will receive ribbons.
Water stations have a competition of their own happening. Our water
stations literally ~ Rock the Forest! Stations play motivating music, decorated
and staffed by area businesses and groups. Runners and walkers get to vote for
the most patriotic, enthusiastic and inspirational station.
