Not your average footrace, LivingSocials 5K Dance Party is a glow-in-the-dark 5K fun run featuring great tunes to make you shake it throughout the course. Participants will receive glow accessories as part of their entry fee and are encouraged to be beacons of light in the night by adorning themselves with all the glow-apparel they can get their hands on.
The race will take participants on and around Turner Field grounds, but the fun doesnt stop at the finish line. Runners will end their foot journey only to find an energetic after-party.
While folks stateside are lighting up Altanta with their glow gear, LivingSocial and Mercy Corps will also be lighting up the night across the world. There are 2.6 billion people in the world without access to reliable electricity and are using hazardous kerosene lanterns for light. A portion of the proceeds from the race will provide several hundred safe, bright, durable and renewable energy solar lanterns from d.light design, which will be donated to a local community in Somalia.
Tickets to this event are on
sale now through June 22 at livingsocial.com/events/5kdanceparty. Tickets include race and after-party entry as well
as glow-in-the-dark accessories. LivingSocials 5K Dance Party is open to
anyone 18+ and runners ages 21+ must bring a valid ID to buy alcohol at the
after-party.
