The Atlanta Halloween Half Marathon & 5K will be an annual event that will kick off the Halloween season! The event will take place in scenic Cumming, GA. The start & finish area will take place at the Cumming Fairgrounds, http://www.cummingfair.net/. There will be plenty of free parking and bathrooms located at the Fairgrounds.
The Atlanta Halloween Half Marathon is a costume and Halloween themed event that adds a unique twist to the traditional half marathon event. Our event features costume categories for runners to choose. Each year more than half of the runners tackle the 13.1 miles decked out in full costume! The categories include: Superhero, Villain, Scary, Funny, and HUH? It is not mandatory to run in costume; you can choose to participate in your age group category as well. Awards will be presented to winners in the category that they registered e.g. If a 25 year old registers as a Superhero they cannot win the medal in the 25-29 yr old Age group category.
We cannot guarantee that you will achieve your personal best time, but we will ensure that you have a good time! All finishers receive a signature Halloween themed medal. Our event is known for its top notch medals!
The race starts at the Cumming Fair Grounds in Cumming and takes a right onto Castleberry Rd and then a left turn onto Huchinson Rd at around the one mile mark. Two miles later while running on N Old Atlanta Rd you turn right onto Ronald Reagan Blvd which is a quiet and scenic four lane road which offers plenty of spectator support points. Another mile and you will make a right onto Samples Rd for a quick U-turn and toilet break if needed. Back onto Ronald Reagan for four tree lined miles of the course which will take you to the second U-turn around mile six where there will be another toilet and a medical station. You will run the same route back, with a two mile addition at around mile nine, where you will continue straight on Ronald Reagan to the third and final U-turn at Northside Forsyth Dr.
