Description

The race is located at the beautiful Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham Alabama.  Bring the family and spend the weekend, golfing, camping, swimming, paddle boats, fishing, moutain biking, hiking & horseback riding and petting zoo.Then Sunday get up and run the Ridge to Ridge Trail Race. This is the 5th race in the Southeastern Trail Series sponsored by Mountain High Outfitters.
Course Info
The race will start with a long climb up the Yellow/White connector, then follow the red bike trail south to the aid station located on the Red Trail where the Green Trail splits off heading over the mountain to Peavine Falls.  After the aid station runners will head up the Green Trail back to the Green/White connector for the steep descent down to the White trail and Upper Peavine Creek.  Turn right on the White for a few 100 yards and take the foot bridge over the creek and climb down to the bottom of the falls.  Cross over the creek under the falls and follow the flagging down then back across the creek and climb our of the gorge to the Blue Trail. Head north to the Orange Trail and turn left. Follow the Orange Trail across the red bike road, all the way to the White Trail.  Turn right on the white trail and head down the mountain to the yellow trail and turn left again, back to the start.

Oak Mountain State Park is located 15 miles south of Birmingham off Exit 246 on Interstate 65.

Coming from the North: On I-65, take Cahaba Valley Road (AL-119) exit (246). Turn right to go South on AL-119 and immediately turn left on to State Park Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles to the park entrance. Turn left at the 4 way into the park.

Coming from the South: On I-65, take Cahaba Valley Road (AL-119) exit (246). Turn left to go South on AL-119 and immediately turn left on to State Park Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles to the park entrance. Turn left at the 4 way into the park.

Once in the park stay on the main park road until you come to the exit for the BMX track.  Pull in there and the 1st pavilion you come to will be the Red Bud Pavilion.
