Description
The Tranquility Lake 50K Trail Race is the final race in the Mountain High Outfitters Southeastern Trail Series.  The race will take place at Oak Mountain State Park, starting at the Redbud Pavilion located on Tranquility Road, adjacent to the BMX Track.  The race will start at 7:00 a.m. and we will have to enforce a nine hour cutoff to insure we are off the trails before dark.  (Sunrise on the 23rd is 6:23 a.m. and sunset is 4:41 p.m.) The 50K course will be two laps of a course circling the park.  There will be an aid station located at the Peavine Falls Parking Lot and at the start/finish.  We will have a manditory 4.5 hour cutoff at the start/finish aid station at mile 15.6.  We will also have a second manditory coutoff at the Peavine Falls Aid Station.  The time is yet to be determined.  Full race details to follow.

Directions

Oak Mountain State Park is located 15 miles south of Birmingham off Exit 246 on Interstate 65.

Coming from the North: On I-65, take Cahaba Valley Road (AL-119) exit (246). Turn right to go South on AL-119 and immediately turn left on to State Park Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles to the park entrance. Turn left at the 4 way into the park.

Coming from the South: On I-65, take Cahaba Valley Road (AL-119) exit (246). Turn left to go South on AL-119 and immediately turn left on to State Park Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles to the park entrance. Turn left at the 4 way into the park.

Once you enter the park stay on the main park road until you come to the BMX track exit.  Turn there and the 1st pavilion you come to will be the Red Bud Pavilion.
