Shine A Light Neon 5K

The Daytona Dream Center would like to invite you to be a part of the 1^st Annual Shine A Light 5K, taking place on January 11, 2014.

Shine A Light is a 5K run that will attract runners from all over Volusia and the surrounding areas, as well as many family members and spectators. Shine A Light serves as a fun way to help spread awareness in our community of a growing problem in our own backyards.

 Did You Know:

       There are 27million people in slavery worldwide this includes men, women, and children.

       The average cost of a human slave is $90

       There are only 100 shelter beds across the country for victims of human trafficking.

       The odds of rescue are 1 in 100.

       800,000 people are trafficked across international borders each year.

       The average age of entry into prostitution is 12-14 years old.

The Daytona Dream Center is running in Daytona to bring attention to this plight. Shine A Light, offers the opportunity for individuals and businesses to participate, fundraise, and help bring and end to human trafficking.

The Daytona Dream Center is challenging supporters to Shine A Light on this atrocity. Did you know 99% of victims are never rescued from human trafficking? Florida is commonly known among law enforcement personnel to have one of the highest incidences of human trafficking in the country. In fact, Floridas known as one of the top 3 destinations for victims in the U.S.
