The North Shore of Big Bear Lake is a short drive from the South Shore, but the two sides of the lake are worlds apart. With very little development and the San Bernardino National Forest reaching the shores of the lake, the North Shore offers spectacular, unobstructed views of the lake and surrounding mountains, as well as a very laid back feel. Much like the North Shore of Oahu, the North Shore of Big Bear Lake is the undiscovered jewel of the valley. So grab your board shorts and Hawaiian shirt and join us for a breathtaking run along the North Shore of Big Bear Lake.

The 13.1 mile half marathon course will be an out and back course. The course is relatively flat with only 444 feet of elevation gain. Starting at the corner of Stanfield Cutoff and North Shore Drive (Hwy 38), runners will head west toward Big Bear Dam on the scenic highway, through the National Forest, and the mountain hamlet of Fawnskin, past the bald eagle sanctuary, to the turn around point adjacent to Big Bear Lake.
Both the 10K and 5K courses are out and back courses and are relatively flat. The 5K course has 125 feet of elevation gain and the 10K course has 255 feet of elevation gain.
TEAM RELAY:
The Big Bear North Shore Half Marathon has added a two person Team Relay to the event. Each runner will run half of the Half Marathon. The uniqueness of this relay is that one team member will be transported to the Half Marathon turn around point by pontoon boat. After the relay exchange, your running partner will board a pontoon boat and meet you at the finish line.

LOCATION: Registration will take place at North Shore Elementary School, 765 Stanfield Cutoff, Big Bear Lake, CA, 92315. The run will start just west of Stanfield Cut-off on North Shore Drive (Hwy38).
