Join as we run in the shadow of the Sutter Buttes Mountains, the smallest mountain range in the world, all the way to The Samaritan Village Orphanage, in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa.
Okay, were not actually racing around the world, but what happens on May 17, 2014 will affect the lives of orphaned and abandoned children who need our help on the other side of the world in Tanzania, Africa!
This Inaugural 5K/10K & Family Mile Fun Run/Walk Charity Event and Raffle will go toward sending a team to provide medical care as well as free labor and materials to double the size of the nursery and help to complete the medical clinic at Samaritan Village Orphanage. This will enable the orphanage to rescue even more abandoned and orphaned children in Africa.
Why Samaritan Village?
We know there are lots of orphanages in Africa and around the world that deserve our support. What makes Samaritan Village unique is that it was founded in 1996 by members of the Yuba/Sutter Community! This event is bringing churches and the community together to bring about an incredible act of love and generosity.
Go to svrunfororphans.org to find out more including the incredible history of the orphanage.
