This 5K Run/Walk will take place in New Port Richey on Saturday morning, June 12, 2010 starting with registration at 6:30am. This scenic route along the beautiful Pitlachascotee River and around Orange Lake will raise much needed funds for YFAs RAP House (Runaway Alternatives Project) serving Pasco Countys runaway, abused, neglected and at-risk youth ages 10-17 since 1982.
RAP House currently has beds available for male and female youth between the ages of 10-17 especially those who may be homeless. RAP House is the only shelter for runaway teens in Pasco County and offers a safe, clean environment, 24 hour supervision, and professional counseling services. Youth residing at the shelter attend local schools and are provided with meals, snacks and personal hygiene items. The shelter which is supported in part by United Way of Pasco and Publix Super Markets Charities and Pasco County Commissioners makes a real difference in the lives of youth who turn to it for a Safe Place. Our presenting sponsor is Dex Imaging. Sponsorships are still available.
To obtain information on admitting a youth, please call the RAP House at (727) 835-1777 or toll free at (800) 226-7187. The address is 7522 Plathe Road, New Port Richey, Florida 34653. Contributions may be made and more information obtained by visiting YFAs website at www.yfainc.org.
